  2. Play Fair Sports

Play Fair Sports

In sport, everybody, no matter what role they have, has the right to participate in an environment that is safe, healthy, fun and to be treated with respect, dignity and fairness.

Bullying denies participants these rights resulting in feelings of disgrace, embarrassment, shame or intimidation. Bullying also affects an individual’s athletic performance, game enjoyment, school and work life. Importantly, it does affect their physical and mental health short term and long term.

Bullying occurs both on and off the sports ground, online and offline often involving other athletes, parents, coaches, spectators or umpires/referees.

The Bully Zero Play Fair Sports Program promotes a caring, friendly and safe environment so that all can play the sport of their choice in a safe and secure atmosphere. Our program aims to help sporting clubs and associations:

  • Understand what bullying is
  • Uphold the dignity and respect of the sporting code and the individual participants
  • Promote the principle of good sportsmanship

The delivery of this program is individually tailored to meet the needs of each club and code.
